WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement & Regional Trade Facilitation Rules and Regulations This e-learning course aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of the concept of trade facilitation, its impacts on trade flows and trade costs, with a focus on the impact of TFA on developing countries, businesses and custom authorities. The course will discuss the provisions of the Trade Facilitation Agreement in clear and jargon free language, explaining how developing countries can make use of the new rules as a platform to increase trade and decrease the cost and time of exporting and thus fully integrate into an increasingly globalized production system. The course will analyse, amongst other developing country or regional examples, the case study of ECOWAS, examining various obstacles to trade in the region, the significance of trade and reducing trade costs within the region, integration of the region in international value chains and the steps that can be taken by the policy makers to best utilise the trade facilitation measures to integrate in international value chains. |

United Nations Trade Facilitation Implementation Guide (TFIG) and Training of Trainers (ToT) Manual The UNECE Trade Facilitation Implementation Guide (TFIG) is a web-based interactive tool that supports countries in the implementation of Trade Facilitation reforms. It provides a one-stop access to a wide array of policy recommendations, standards, guidelines, training materials, case stories and links to relevant tools for helping public and private sector actors better navigate Trade Facilitation instruments in order to identify, examine and select available solutions and possible paths for achieving their objectives. The information is presented by domains (e.g. shipping and transport, customs and cross border management) and itineraries (users can explore questions such as "How to implement the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement"? , “How to reduce delays at border crossings?” and “What steps need to be taken for establishing a Single Window?”, "How to develop a Trade Facilitation Roadmap"?). TFIG includes information on specific instruments and key organizations in the field of Trade Facilitation as well as training material and country case-stories sharing best practices and solutions to obstacles encountered in Trade Facilitation reforms. In 2016, TFIG has received more than 10 million hits. TFIG also includes a Training of Trainers (ToT) manual, which has been developed for conducting workshops based on the contents of the Guide. It provides guidance for a three-day workshop based on the Guide. It also helps trainers to prepare for their sessions, describes how to structure the training, and gives pedagogical and didactical guidelines for achieving the participant learning objectives. UNECE staff or experts can deliver a ToT or a national workshop on TFIG at countries' request, subject to hosting arrangements and coverage of related costs. |
