Bilateral meeting held between TFAF and Tanzania in the margins of the TF Week in October (2-6 October 2023)

 

Articles requiring support

Art. 1.1 - Information is scattered.  Need for enhancement of human resources to collect, analyse and publish information to populate the portal

Art. 1.2 - Review and amend policies/legal frameworks and procedures - Establish and maintain an online system for data collection and dissemination - Enhance the Tanzania Trade Portal by integrating all institutional systems dealing with trade related information.

Art. 1.3 - All institutions dealing with import and export need to have their own enquiry points. One national contact point needed 

Art. 5.3 - Revision of national regulations and operational practices for second testing of all relevant government bodies. Compilation of list of accredited laboratories per type of test and products by HS code.  Inclusion of this list into the Trade Portal

Art. 8 - Support soft infrastructure and equipment necessary for border post operations for the newly established OSBPs. Training and capacity building for human resources. Establishment and Institutionalization of Joint Border Committees (JBCs).  Enhancement of border procedures (documentation, harmonization and alignment of working hours - internal and external clients awareness creation)
